
Malina Mantcheva is born 1976 in Sofia,Bulgaria. With 5 years she received her first violin lessons. She graduated with violin and chamber music at the Sofia Music High School, and later at the Sofia Music Conservatory.
1994 Malina got a member of Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, from where she got the inspiration to go abroad for further specialisation.
She was accepted in several conservatories in Germany and made her choice for the one in Cologne. There she obtained three Diplomas: modern violin, baroque violin and baroque chamber music.
Her most important teachers were Prof. Ingeborg Scheerer and Prof. Richard Gwilt.
Throughout all years of studies Malina has been a passionate chamber music player and has been working intensively with a Piano Trio, String Quartett and a Trio for Early Music, all established and led by herself.
2004-2006 Malina Mantcheva played at the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Her reach interest in chamber music and historical performance practice made her choose for the freelancer path. She is a member of various Ensembles such as Concerto con Anima, Capella Augustina, L'arte del mondo, Das Neue Orchester, Anima Eterna, Musica Sacra and others. With her Trio Musaì (violin, clarinet/saxophone, piano) she performs contemporary music and organizes theater-concerts for children. Trio Dilma is a project for a performing of bulgarian folklore,composed and educational programs.With the actor Michael Witte and Trio Magalin she is performing "Sauschwanz".
